In other news, I am never clipping his claws again. I got 3 done on his right front, and one done on his left front, and then I cut to much. A loud yelp and blood, and I was done. It took time chasing him down to get him with the styptic stuff. At least that worked for a 4 hours. On our walk, he started to bleed again. Home we came and put him in the tub to wash/rinse his paws, and this time, into the flour with his paw. Again, this lasted about an hour. Back to the flour and then off to bed. It seemed like every time he tried to play, it would start to bleed again. I am just never doing it again. I am going to be taking him to Petsmart tomorrow to get the rest of his claws done. I can't bring myself to even pick up the clippers.
Today, Charlie had his first real bath. We have been working up to this for a little while. He enjoys getting in the tub himself while the water is running. He enjoys me pouring water on him. Today we were introduced to shampoo. He didn't like that so much because it takes to much time to rinse him off. I think I need to work on using the shower handle with him. That would cut the time down by a lot. I am very glad I have a handicapped bathroom. The water all over the floor wasn't an issue because of the drains in that room. He actually decided to shake himself dry today. That was a first.
He sure is growing up fast. He has gotten taller. He listens a lot more. He still has problems listening when there are distractions, but we can work on that together.
I really wish there was a walking club, or social club for people and their dogs. It would be good for both of us. I need to socialize more with new people, and hide less. He needs to learn how to play with other dogs.
Charlie and TJ (TJ kept telling him not to look at the camera
Yes, I put a T-shirt on him. This is one that my Dad brought back from South Africa for TJ when TJ was about 5 months old.
