Sick then NOT Sick

Charlie has had a rough weekend.  He and I were going to just have a quiet time alone.  We were going to go to the park, and go for walks and everything together. That was not what happened.

Charlie started getting the runs earlier this week.  By Saturday, he was having "Fire Hose Poops" (this is what my son calls them). Pure liquid shooting out his butt.  He was lethargic.  He was not a happy boy.  I made sure he drank lots, and decided to cut off his food the until dinner the next day.  After going to sleep, Charlie then vomitted around 12:30 am.  Now that scared me. I looked it up on the internet, and decided to wait until Sunday morning if I was going to take him to the vet.

Sunday, he had no interest in food, which was good, because I wasn't planning on giving him any.  He did drink, and would still have ice cubes, but nothing other than that.  He also didn't more around a lot.  He only got up from a lying down position if he needed me to take him outside.  He spent most of his time in his crate.

At 3:30, he woke up looking for food.  I only gave him 1/4 of a cup of food.  I didn't want to push his belly to much, and I figured if he was still not feeling good, that would either come up, or out quickly.  Instead, he was active, wanting to play, and wanting to go outside to sniff all over the back and front yards.  At 5:30. I gave him another 1/4 cup.  It also stayed down and he slept well for the night.

Monday morning, he pooped.  It was hard and full of stuff.  I had figured he might have had a blockage, because of the reading I did on the internet, and the poop that came out, was definitely a blockage.  I actually rinsed it off in a sieve.   It was pure chicken bone and wood. Ewwwww.

Anyways, he is good now.  He is eating well.  He is drinking well.  He has not had another poop, but I figured he cleaned himself out with all the diarrhea.
