HMMMMMM

I have been trying to post pictures of the stuff Charlie had taken out of his stomach, his incision sight, and of his recovery, but I can't seem to upload any of them.

Today he had the stitches from his neutering taken out, and I was told his other incision was doing wonderfully.  I am also feeding him correctly, and he looks really healthy.  I needed to hear all that.  Sometimes I don't think I am doing everything right.  So far, it seems I am doing a lot right.

Yeah Charlie, and Yeah me!!!!!!!

Pictures (he is home tonight)

At the hospital

At home relaxing (cone is on his head)

Look how sad he looks (cone is still on)

Charlie will be limited in his activity.  He is on 3 medications.  He must wear the cone for at least 7 days.  He keeps bumping into things.  The next picture will be all the things they pulled out of his stomach.  Be prepared.
I will put it up tomorrow.

Sigh

Charlie got through his surgery very well.  They took out 4 blades and a wire.  They also removed a candy wrapper, and other "debris".  She was concerned about him getting into the garbage and such.  Nope, not a problem.  House walk through before Charlie gets out of his crate.  They were all in his stomach, so that lowered the harm of his surgery.  Even though she called, I didn't get any sleep.  I just couldn't without the sound of his breathing.  Almost like when TJ stays in the hospital.

I called this morning.  Charlie did well overnight.  He was whimpering a a little.  They think it was pain induced.  I think he missed his crate, home, and Tigger.  I think he missed the sounds of my sleeping near him.  He also said I can come down and give him some food around 2. I am definitely going to do that.  If he tolerates the food well, he may come home later tonight.  I don't know if I am ok with that yet.

I want to know that he is well before he comes home, but I really want him to come home.  Confusion!

Surgeries and stuff

On Monday, Charlie had his first surgery.  He was neutered.  No biggy.  He handled it all very well.  He hasn't really licked at or bitten at his stitches.  His stitches will be coming out on the 21st.  That isn't what this post is about.

This post is about right now, as Charlie is in surgery to have 5 razor blades removed from his stomach.

See, TJ moved my razor, and Charlie got to it.  What I could get out of his mouth was only the plastic.  I knew the blades were in him.  I called the emergency vet, and took him in.  I had to pay a consult fee, then the x-ray fee, then an anesthetic fee to find out that yes, I was right.  He had the 5 blades in his stomach (thank the God/desses they weren't lower) and needed surgery.

I had to call my Mom to ask her for $4000 just to have the surgery done.  I called my Nana, and she will help with the cost, if Mom calls her. At least part of the guilt is off my back.  Dad came through.  Mom is not happy.  Charlie is having his surgery.

He is there right now.  Having the blades removed.  I am at home, crying and holding on to his "puppy" and Tigger, hoping he will be ok.

The vet said she would call when the surgery is over.  I hope it will be soon.  Very very very soon.
